Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

How can I participate?

You can get involved in the activities of the culture workshop by visiting us first. You may participate in the Come Along group or arrange a personal visit by contacting employees via message, email or phone. You may take a support person with you for the visit.

Can I join a group in the middle of the period?

Yes, you can join most groups in the middle of the period. New visitors are welcomed every week and we try to find activities fit for you as soon as possible. Even if groups of your interest are full or unavailable, you can still visit us to join our community and to participate future groups.

I’m very nervous about joining. Should I still come?

The culture workshop has a gentle atmosphere and we are a very understanding bunch. Most people are nervous at first and here you can be as talkative or quiet as you like. You may join the group just to follow the activity or participate as much as you please. You don’t need to talk about your personal affairs if you don’t feel like it and everything you share will stay confidential. The employees are happy to help and you may talk about being nervous already during your first visit. It’s normal and ok to be nervous.

Can I take part in the group, even though I’m not sure if I can participate 100% every time?

Yes, you can. Everyone takes part in the group according to their own abilities. It’s also perfectly okay to watch while others are doing the activity.

I am a student/unemployed/working/on sick leave/retired/on rehabilitation, can I still participate?

Yes, you can participate. We all have our own circumstances.

Can I bring my own snacks, and where can I store them?

We offer free coffee and different types of tea. You may bring snacks or lunch with you. Casa has a fridge, a microwave, plates, and cutlery you can use. We do not have a dishwasher, so we hope that everyone washes their own dishes.

Do I have to tell other visitors my name or something else about myself?

Everyone decides how much they want to tell about their circumstances. You can introduce yourself with a first name, a nickname or a name chosen by yourself.

Can I participate in the group, even if the activity is something that I think I’m bad at?

Yes, definitely! The groups are meant for beginners as well as experienced individuals. The purpose is not to evaluate how good each participant is.

The activity is aimed at people with mental health problems. I’ve only had a little depression myself. Is everyone else out there seriously ill?

Casa gathers together people with similar interests and the activity revolves around active doing. Many are rather surprised by how ordinary it is in here. We are not a treatment facility, although the employees are capable to help with various challenges.

My friend/partner would also like to join the activity. Can I just take them with me?

Everyone gets involved in the activity by visiting us first. If they belong to our target group, advise them to make an appointment for a visit.
